Psychotherapy that works.
With over 26 years of counseling and psychotherapy experience in agency, education and private practice settings, I am skilled at helping people pivot towards self compassion and away from destructive thoughts and behaviors. I teach clients how to get realigned with the best version of themselves. This can feel like a homecoming and it is beautiful to witness.
I work with those struggling with grief/loss, anxiety, toxic stress, low self-esteem, dysfunctional family patterns, depression, relationship problems, self-confidence, adult children of alcoholics, and trauma (including but not limited to: surviving bullying, domestic violence, accidents, sexual abuse/assault, domestic violence, racism, sexism, masking, homophobia and being "other". I hold a BA in Psychology from Earlham College and an MA in Counseling from Adler University. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and am passionate about helping people shift away from their harsh inner critic and instead embrace true self-compassion. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am committed to integrating the most effective evidence-based therapies to help clients heal. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness and Compassion Focussed Therapy. I provide a judgement-free, warm and caring atmosphere. We may create lifestyle shifts, develop new habits that directly affect your mood and functioning, transform unhealthy thinking patterns or process unresolved issues from your past. Giving clients options rooted in research and evidence based approaches is the most effective way to approach healing and change. Clients often tell me they want to be both supported and challenged. The people who see the most rewarding changes are the ones who do "the work" in between sessions, show up each week and arrive with openness and curiosity about themselves. |
