Your story matters to me.
The decision to enter therapy is a big one. It can be both scary and exciting. When the therapeutic relationship is secure and comfortable, people often find they are able to let down some of their defenses and authentically explore what is working in their lives and what isn't. What changes do you want to make?
Therapy is one of the very few times in a week when we get to take some deep breaths, center ourselves and pause from the daily grind to have authentic conversations about patterns, emotions and our role in relationships. The process offers space and time for self-reflection and healing. Change cannot happen without self-awareness and this requires slowing down. Contrary to what society tells us, slowing down is an important aspect of being productive. Asking for help takes courage. Reflection and looking within is not an easy process. It takes work and I enjoy working with clients who are committed to showing up for themselves in an authentic way and are open to challenging old belief systems that do not serve them. Psychotherapy allows clients to reconnect with their true self. Inner peace and a sense of ease often becomes the new normal. |
For someone to develop genuine compassion towards others, first he or she must have a basis upon which to cultivate compassion, and that basis is the ability to connect to one’s own feelings and to care for one’s own welfare… Caring for others requires caring for oneself.—Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama
